Revised Common Lectionary
Gospel Sermons™ is
an on-line source for sermons in the Mainline Protestant and Mainline
Protestant liturgical traditions. Sermons are based on the widely
accepted Revised Common Lectionary
utilized by most Mainline Protestant Churches in the
English-speaking world, including, in the United States, The American
Baptist Church, The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), The
Christian Reformed Church in North America, The
Episcopal Church, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America, The Presbyterian Church in the USA and The United Methodist
Church.
RCL sermons on this site always reflect a
theology of grace. They focus on the Gospel
passage assigned for the particular Sunday, while also drawing on the
assigned Old Testament and the Epistle readings, as appropriate.
The sermons are
written with liturgical preaching in mind and are therefore relatively
short (10 to 12 minutes) and are strongly focused on the teaching point.
